Urban Astronauts, a pop up planetarium and free creative activities come to Doncaster for the DN Festival Does Space this July.

Right Up Our Street are bringing this creative, fun event to Doncaster all day on Saturday July 28 in Sir Nigel Gresley Square between 10am and 5pm. Using the theme of space, they will be bringing international and nationally renowned street performers to Doncaster including innovative dance theatre 'Urban Astronaut' by Highly Sprung (pictured) and the beautifully post-apocalyptic 'The Wheel House' by Acrojou.

Right Up Our Street also commissioned local community groups and artists to create participatory events for the festival. Empty shop units within the Village at Waterdale Shopping Centre will be reimagined and taken over by curiosities and creative family activities and performances.

The summer festival will see a giant inflatable space called ‘The Big M’ in Sir Nigel Gresley Square, this will become a central hub for family fun activities from a film screening to a family rave.

A pop up planetarium will feature an original immersive animation as well as wrap around science talks.

Right Up Our Street will launch the festival on the evening of Friday 27th July with a pop up cinema event screening Wall-E and Blade Runner. For information check out the whats on page for the different performance listings.
