2017 Retrospective
Our Projects in 2017
Rossington Grand Parade 2017
Rossington Grand Parade celebrated the past present and future of the local area- created by the community of Rossington through a partnership with Rossington Parade and Community Arts Group (Right Up Our Street's partner Rossington community team) and bringing in the expertise of the Handmade Parade. Local residents, schools and groups were involved in making much of the art through workshops.
Rossington Parade and Community Arts Group, a committed group of local residents, worked incredibly hard over several months to see the parade happen- volunteering loads of their time to make great things happen in their community!
The DN WeekeND 2017
The DNweekeND Festival was back for a fourth year- creating a colourful family friendly street extravaganza for one weekend- with some of the best arts and performance both home-grown and from across the country taking over the town centre for two days of free fun for all ages!
Sir Nigel Gresley Square was the festival hub with activities down through The Village at Waterdale Shopping Centre and inside Cast too. The festival was packed with surprising and astounding free entertainment including street theatre, circus, music, dance, painting, photography and crafts.
Balby by the Sea 2017
Balby by the Sea is a family fun event based at Woodfield Social Club in Balby. Right Up Our Street supported Balby Community Arts in delivering this summer festival by bringing high quality performers to the day.
The Right Up Our Street Bingo Bonanza!
A theatre/pub quiz/bingo mash up, commissioned by Right Up Our Street and created and performed by Excavate telling stories about the local area.
