Noise Collective

A Music project for young people in Doncaster.

About Noise Collective

The Noise Collective is a music project introducing young musicians aged 14-18 to professional music artists who will share methods and techniques used to make music via a series of Masterclasses delivered in school settings.

Young people are then invited to submit music that they have created and to take part in further music-making sessions. They will be encouraged to collaborate with their peers and music professionals to produce pieces of music that will be performed at a special Right Up Our Street event on Friday 24th May 2024.

The submission of work will also go out to young people across Doncaster (14-18) as an open call, so anyone is free to be involved and join the Collective in Phase 2.

The First Stage

Throughout November and December, Project Manager Paul Littlewood visited XP School, Ridgewood School, Astrea Academy and McAuley School with Music Industry Professionals Skinny Pelembe and Leonie from Luxury Goods to deliver Masterclass Sessions to the students.

Within the Masterclass Sessions, students were encouraged to take part in song and lyric writing and in some cases when schools had recording equipment they developed their recording techniques.

Students are now encouraged to submit their work via this form. Students who do submit will be invited to take part in further music making sessions and join the Noise Collective.

The work created will be shared as part of a Right Up Our Street event in May 2024.
