Right Up Our Street 〰️ 10 Year Anniversary 〰️ Craft Boxes for Foodbanks 〰️ 2021 〰️

Culture Co-operative was a project that aimed to reach and engage individuals within the community who may have been experiencing loneliness, exacerbated by the pandemic and most recent period of lockdown.

Strand Two of the Culture Co-operative focused on communities who used the Food Banks in Doncaster.

Right Up Our Street packed 400 craft boxes filled with different craft activities that were then delivered to Food Banks across Doncaster to then be distributed to families.

Craft Box One: Embroidery #icantwait

The Right Up Our Street team packed 100 Craft Boxes filled with materials to make a beautiful piece of embroidery artwork. This box has now been delivered to Food Banks and were distributed across the community. Inside the box, people received a needle and thread along with an embroidery hoop. People were encouraged to use the fabric and design provided in the box to create a beautiful piece of embroidery. The artwork was designed by Will Richardson Illustration and includes two people hugging with the words ‘I Can’t Wait’ printed below.

Craft Box Two: Creative Colouring Box

The second Craft Box we put together was the creative colouring set. Receivers of the box received a set of colouring pencils, watercolour paints and a paintbrush, a blank notebook and a printed colouring in page.

100 creative colouring boxes were packed and were delivered to Food Banks and went on to be distributed across the community.

Craft Box Three: Sewing #DonnyDorisDoll

Craft Box Three was our #DonnyDorisDoll - receivers of the box got a tea towel with a pattern of Doris they could cut out, stuff and sew together to make their own Doris to hug or gift.

A needle, thread and pins were included to help you sew Doris together.

100 of these boxes were packed together and were ready to be distributed across the community.

Craft Box Three: Colouring Tote Bag

The Fourth and Final Craft Box is our Tote Bag - receivers of the box got a Tote Bag with a beautiful design on the front of it. Within the print are drawings of some of our favourite places to visit in Doncaster, such as The Yorkshire Wildlife Park, Cast and Doncaster Dome.

Also in the box were two postcards you could send along, fabric markers to colour in the Tote Bag and a Right Up Our Street Pencil.

Just like the other three boxes, 100 have been made and were packed and sent along to Food Banks to be distributed across our communities.
