DCLC - Doncaster Central Learning Centre - Three Short Ballets
Doncaster Central Learning Centre (DCLC), a Community Interest Company, is a non-profit organisation that was formed in 2010. Much of DCLC’s work relies on the kind donations and the partnership support of its volunteers, members and partners. The core business of DCLC is the promotion of learning as a means of empowerment and integration. It’s strategy and services are directed by the vision of a cohesive society where people of all backgrounds have equal life chances. DCLC’s mission is to be an agent for change, using learning as a tool for empowering individuals and uniting communities.
DCLC tries to benefit the whole community of Doncaster but also tries to work with particular communities of the black and minority ethnic community, vulnerable, disadvantaged and marginalised groups, hard to reach groups and individuals, BAME voluntary and community sector organisations
DCLC’s strategic objectives are;
· To support the third sector in working towards a cohesive society where people of all nationalities have equal life chances.
· To engage with diverse communities to improve accessibility to health, learning, employment and enterprise creation.
· To increase understanding and respect for the needs and issues affecting the quality of life of Doncaster’s diverse communities and individuals.
· To provide support with regards to the isolation and loneliness amongst the Diverse Communities and individuals living within Doncaster and its district.
· To increase third sector and community access to facilities and resources.
Volunteers are integral in the strategic planning and delivery of DCLC. Volunteers have a crucial role to support and assist in the set up and running of new groups and activities. To deliver activities which may have a focus on health & wellbeing and making positive social actions.
Partners
DCLC work with partners and local businesses such as CAST, Right Up Our Street, Health Watch Doncaster, Age UK Doncaster, King Asia Foods Ltd and other charities and social enterprises.
