Admissions and Ticketing

  • The event is FREE 

  • The Luminarium will admit visitors from 10 am to 4pm (last admission)

  • The duration may be limited to 20 minutes in the case of high attendance

  • On the door tickets available onsite during opening times on a first come first served basis. This queue might close early in the case of high attendance.

  • A limited amount of pre-booked tickets are available online for priority admission at booked times from 10.30am to 3pm. Advance ticket holders must arrive 10 minutes before the time indicated on the ticket and will have priority access up to 30 minutes from the time indicated on the ticket. A small queue should still be expected.

  • If advance tickets are indicated as sold out you can still join the line onsite.

  • Children under 16 years will only be admitted accompanied by an adult. 1 adult for 4 children 

  • The Luminarium is accessible to wheelchair users

What is the Doncaster Festival of Colour?

Doncaster Festival of Colour is a Spring companion to Doncaster Festival of Light, also held at Doncaster Minster. The festival is organised by Right Up Our Street. We strive to push boundaries and deliver a unique high quality event that we can all be proud of. This is about audiences connecting to joy, embracing experiences and participatory moments. Culture belongs to everyone.

WHO MAKES THE DONCASTER FESTIVAL OF Colour HAPPEN?

Right Up Our Street working collaboratively with our community Festival Steering Group. This ensures that programming is relevant and led by the community of Doncaster.

Right Up Our Street is about people in Doncaster choosing, making, seeing and sharing great art, music, theatre, film, dance, radio, poetry, and more.

What is access like?

The Luminarium is accessible for wheelchair users and people using crutches. Pushchairs must be left in the reception area.

DO I NEED TO BOOK A TICKET TO VISIT THE DONCASTER FESTIVAL OF Colour?

The Doncaster Festival of Colour is a free ticketed event and will operate in half hour slots. You can book your free tickets online here or email us or ring us on 01302 326395. Please note our office hours are Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm.

There is an option to leave a donation. All donations go towards the delivery of our free, charity led events. Our suggested donation amount is £2 per ticket.

Can I come in without a ticket or with the wrong ticket?

A small number of tickets will be held back for walk ins. You are welcome to join the queue on the day, but pleased be warned there may be a wait time for this as pre-booked tickets will get priority. We ask that if you can no longer attend your slot that you let us know by emailing hello@rightupourstreet.org.uk with your name and ticket reference, so your space can be allocated to another attendee.

IS THE DONCASTER FESTIVAL OF Colour FREE?

Yes the Doncaster Festival of Colour is FREE. When you book your tickets you can select to leave a donation. All donations go towards the delivery of our free, charity led events.

Toilet Access

Toilets are available inside the Minster including an accessible toilet. More information about Minster Access can be found here.

Can I bring food or drink inside?

Food and drink is not allowed in the Luminarium. There is a cafe inside the Minster where refreshments will be available.

Are dogs allowed inside?

The luminarium is not an environment that is suitable for assistance dogs, so we ask that they remain outside. Service dogs are however permitted inside the Minster.

How Do I get there?

The Minster is a 7 minute walk from the Doncaster Interchange and a 6 minute walk from Doncaster Market. You can follow the Google Map Link here.

There are several car park options in the City Centre that are available. Below is a list near the area of the Minster.

PHOTOGRAPHY AND FILMING ONSITE

Please note that photography and filming will take place during the festival. The material may be used in social media, in promotional videos and other publicity materials, both off and online. If you do not wish to appear in Right Up Our Street promotional materials, or have any other queries or concerns, please speak to a member of the Right Up Our Street Team.

WHO FUNDS THE DONCASTER FESTIVAL OF Colour?

Our organisation is primarily funded by Arts Council England with support from Doncaster City Council.

Why am I asked questions when booking my free ticket?

The data collected allows us to do two things. As a charity we work hard to ensure that we are reaching all communities within Doncaster and that we are also supporting any access needs that they may have. The data collected is anonymised and shared with our funders, Arts Council England, to ensure that we as a City and Right Up Our Street we can continue to apply for and benefit from national funding within Doncaster.

Weather

Due to the Luminarium being situated outside The Minster, adverse weather may impact our event. If you are concerned we will make any announcements regarding change to delivery on our social media or you will be contact via email.
