Funding News

We are so excited to say that we have been successful in our application for a further three years of funding from Arts Council England.

Right Up Our Street has been delivering work across the Borough of Doncaster for 9 years and is funded by Art Council England’s Creative People and Places programme.

Creative People and Places is about more people choosing, creating, and taking part in brilliant art experiences in the places where they live.

Right Up Our Street is excited to announce that the project has been successful in their application for a further three years of funding from Arts Council England.

Across its 9 years of delivery Right Up Our Street has brought the DN Festival of Light to the Minster, including Luke Jerram’s ‘Museum of the Moon’, Novak’s ‘Tectonic’, and most recently ‘The Crossing Place’ by Heinrich & Palmer and they are excited to continue to bring large-scale events to the community of Doncaster.

Since 2014 Right Up Our Street has also developed and supported projects across the Borough of Doncaster include Balby by the Sea, Read 2 Write Poetry group, Cosy Cinema, Mexborough, Bentley Community Choir and the Rossington Grand Parade, recently bringing Window Wanderland Day of the Dead to Rossington and much more.

Many thanks to our strategic partners Doncaster Council.

Project Director Sally Lockey:

“Right Up Our Street are thrilled to have received confirmation of a further 3 years of funding. Over the past 9 years, with the support of our Consortium and the community of Doncaster, the project has grown to understand the needs, values and creative interests of the people that live here and in turn have become a trusted part of their creative ecology. What a great position to continue the project from! We all have a very exciting 3 years ahead of us.”

Huge thanks to our Consortium members for their hard work and support along the way Cast, darts, DCLT, DVAN and Balby Community Library.
